Insurance provider offers resources, guides, and valuable information to help businesses in food industries manage risk and choose appropriate insurance policies.
CHICAGO—September 12, 2014—Insureon, the nation's leading online provider of insurance for small and micro businesses, today launched foodservices.insureon.com, a microsite dedicated to business owners in food services industries.
Designed to help bakeries, caterers, cafes, restaurants, bars, food trucks, and other food services businesses meet their risk management needs, the site includes eBooks on liquor liability and general risk management, sample quotes and cost estimates for various insurance policies, videos of real insureon customers, and a flowchart that suggests insurance policies based on the features of a business.
"Business insurance is intimidating," said Ted Devine, insureon's CEO. "Small-business owners are told they need it, but that's all they hear. They might not have any idea which policies they need, why they need coverage, what they get in exchange for the premiums they pay. We're fixing that problem. Restaurant owners and caterers come here and they can find out pretty much anything they want to know about insurance for their business — and by the way, if they don't see an answer, we have an FAQ tool."
Devine is referring to the function of the Frequently Asked Questions page that lets site users submit a question about coverage if they don't see information that answers their questions.
The microsite is part of a move on insureon's part to emphasize customer education as a key part of risk management. In addition to the rollout of the Food Services resources, insureon also recently launched the Insureon Small Business Institute (ISBI), a research arm dedicated to publishing analytics of policy costs in small commercial insurance. In the coming months, the company plans to introduce industry-specific resources for professions outside of food services.
Insureon is the nation's source for small business insurance. In addition to offering General Liability and Professional Liability Insurance, insureon provides a variety of educational materials designed to help business owners implement risk management best practices.
