At insureon, we understand that not everybody gets as excited as we do about small-business insurance. In fact, our enthusiasm is at the core of our business model: we hire agents who know the industry inside and out. We take care of the insurance side so our customers can take care of what they do best.
We are proud to announce that last week, our agent Christina Young took one more step toward providing the excellent customer service that insureon agents are known for by becoming a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Trust us, this is a big deal.
In order to earn her CIC status, which is awarded by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, Christina had to complete 100 hours of classroom work and pass five comprehensive exams. The exams cover the major aspects of insurance, insurance management, and agency operations. Many people don’t pass the first time, which is why we are so proud that Christina did!
While we always knew Christina was a great asset to our team, her new certification lets the rest of the world know that she’s one of the country’s most knowledgeable and competent insurance practitioners. The CIC program, established in 1969, provides insurance professionals with practical (i.e. real-world) information and strategies for providing the best and most complete service possible to their customers.
In order to be eligible to become a CIC, insurance professionals must, in addition to completing the coursework and passing the tests…
- Have two years of professional experience;
- Hold a license as an agent, broker, solicitor, or claim adjustor; or
- Have full-time faculty experience at a college or university.
About Christina Young
Christina earned her Bachelor’s from the University of North Texas in 2004 with a major in Political Science and a minor in German. She launched her career in the insurance industry in 2003 at a general agency, writing mostly construction risks and scaffolding accounts.
In 2005, she earned licensure as a Property & Casualty Agent and began working with insureon (specifically our BusinessInsuranceNow.com and Techinsurance.com sites) the following year. In her more than six years with us, she has focused primarily on providing insurance for small business owners in technology industries. Christina attributes her ability to understand the needs of her customers in part to the fact that she’s married to an IT developer. They have a three-year-old daughter, and while Christina likes her job, she credits her family for inspiring her and giving meaning to everything she does.
If you’re one of the lucky small business owners who gets to speak with Christina about your insurance needs in the coming days, please extend your congratulations to her!
