IT.Insureon.com offers strategies to help technology professionals grow their revenue by addressing clients' increasing cyber risks.
CHICAGO—Feb. 3, 2015—Insureon, the nation's leading online provider of insurance for small and micro businesses, today announced the launch of it.insureon.com, a microsite dedicated to business resources to help small technology businesses, freelancers, and independent contractors grow their revenue by addressing some of the most urgent needs of technology users.
At a time when data breaches are more prevalent than ever, many individuals and businesses are worried but unsure about how to protect themselves. New data from the Online Trust Alliance shows that more than 90 percent of data breaches in early 2014 were preventable and a recent Trustwave report finds that businesses are increasing investments in security software but failing to use that software to its full capabilities. In other words, people want to invest in protecting themselves but don't know how to maximize the return on their investments.
"Insureon has its roots in serving small technology businesses — that's all we did when we started in 1997," said Ted Devine, CEO of insureon. "We've found coverage for 100,000 IT providers since then. Today, technology is as central to the lives of the average American as it's always been to us. That translates to a tremendous need for IT professionals who can guide us and keep our data safe."
To help IT professionals meet that challenge, the website offers resources to guide them in managing the business side of things so they can operate profitably. Among the site's resources are articles on building and maintaining client relationships, risk management checklists, and tips for managing contractors and subcontractors. The site also includes an Ask-a-Question function, which allows users to submit questions that aren't answered elsewhere.
