General Liability Insurance Definition

The "Legal-Ease" Glossary
General Liability Insurance

Business insurance that protects you from a variety of common third-party claims, including property damage, bodily harm, and personal injury.

Any time your business interacts with the public – whether it's within your commercial property or on a jobsite – you can be found legally liable for their losses, injuries, and other damages. For example, if a potential client slips on your business's icy sidewalk, falls, and breaks a bone, the injured party could sue you for damages.
